Prayer Updates 6th January 2011

In Christ alone my hope is found,

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground,

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

As we meet on Sunday for Communion at the beginning of a New Year pray that we might know the power of the finished work of Christ on the cross and renew our hope in him for the past, the present and for the future.

Give thanks to God for the many blessings we have received during the past year. Pray that His mercy and peace and a greater understanding of God’s purpose in our lives may be our fortune during 2011

Continue to pray for the leadership within the church in particular our minister, the Elders and committee and all those who work with youth. Pray that they will recommence this session with a renewed love for God and his people and know God’s guiding hand in all they do.

Pray for all organisations as they resume their activities in the next week. Remember especially J Team and Youth Club on Saturday and GB on Wednesday.

Pray for Sunday School and Bible Class as it recommences. Give thanks for children who come so faithfully. Pray that God’s spirit might be at work in their hearts to lead them to a deep and saving faith in Christ.

Pray for Mission Focus speakers on Sunday 16th on Faith and Policing at the Evening Service. Pray for the ongoing protection of the PSNI as the serve in this country and for us as a congregation as we seek to support them.

We pray for the success of the small group bible studies at the commencement of another year. We thank God for their success during 2010 and we pray for renewed attendance during 2011 and that the book of Acts will both enlighten and encourage others to join the groups.

Pray for those who continue to meet in the prayer triplet groups that they will be able to keep this commitment and be encouraged in prayer.

Pray for the Youth Club leaders as they take the Youth to the Ripple Effect Coffee Bar on Saturday 15th that they will have safety in travel and that it will be an encouraging time for the young folk who go. Pray for openness in discussions afterwards.

Pray for those who at this time suffer from illness at home or in hospital. We pray that God may draw them close to himself and that His Spirit of peace may be their special blessing. We pray for the relief of stress for their family and that doctors and medical assistance will create the right conditions for God’s blessing of recovery. We pray for those on treatment for illness that recovery may be blessed by God.

Pray for the continued recovery of Mrs Annie Smith from surgery last month and for all the family at this time.
