Give thanks to God for the many blessings we receive daily, the greatest of these being the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour, Redeemer and friend and may Glory be to His name.
Pray for the Special Licencing Service for Keith Hibbert on Sunday 29th. Pray that Keith and the family will know God’s blessing on this special day. Pray for him as he commences full-time work in our congregation from June. Pray that God will lead and direct him as he serves Him here. Pray too for his mum and family circle at this time of bereavement.
Pray for all the work of Sunday School in church especially as they begin to prepare for Children’s Day. Pray that seeds sown in the children’s hearts would bear fruit.
Pray for Congregational Committee as they meet on Tuesday 31st May. Pray for unity in all decisions and willingness to work. Give thanks for all who serve God in this way.
Pray for the Parent and Toddlers Ladies Night Out on Friday 3rd June. Give thanks that a good number of mums are coming along. Pray that it will be a relaxed evening and that Helen Caldwell would know God’s leading as she prepares to bring God’s word afterwards. Pray for openness of hearts. Give thanks for 2 mums from P & T who are keen to bring their children to Sunday school next year.
Pray for Streetreach taking place on Friday nights. Pray for guidance re: the summer as to whether we could put a team out from our church each Friday night. At present there is not sufficient interest to make this work.
Pray for Richard Brown as he reports on his recent outreach in Poland on Sunday June 5th evening service. Give thanks for God’s protection on him while he was away.
Give thanks for the young people who attend MAD faithfully on Sunday nights. Pray that they would be encouraged to grow in their faith and take their stand as a Christian.
Pray for Friendly Hour Outing on Tuesday 7th June. Pray for safety in travel.
Pray for the plans for the Church Picnic on Sunday 12th June that it may be well attended and a special time of friendship and fellowship in the congregation.
Pray for the Pastoral Care Working Group of session as they consider the possibility of running the Market Day Coffee mornings again over the summer. Pray for volunteers and God’s leading in this.
Pray for those who are in need of God’s grace in a particular way at this time:
· Those who have been bereaved
· Those who are ill and their carers
· Those who are facing financial stress
· Those who are experiencing difficulties in their marriage and family relationships.
· Young people sitting exams at school and university.
Other Prayer Points
Pray for General Assembly as it meets 6th – 10th June. Pray for Rev Ivan Patterson as he takes up the office of moderator that he would know God’s help. Pray too for Dr Norman Hamilton as he settles back into life in his congregation. Pray for God’s leading in all the debates and that every decision that is made would honour Him.
Continue to pray for the practical and financial needs of Revival Movement Association. Recent shipments have been sent to Burkina Faso, India, Brazil and Kenya. Pray that God would use this literature to lead many to put their faith in Christ and grow in their knowledge of Him.
Pray for the Faith Mission Tent Mission (nightly until 5th June) in Magherafelt. Pray for good attendance at the meetings and that God’s spirit might be at work in the lives of those who attend. Pray too for fruitful conversations during the visitation in homes.
Pray for the Christian families throughout the Arab region at the continued unrest. Those who have lost loved ones due to the terrorist bombing, those who cannot openly practice their Christian faith. We pray for Christians that the civil disorder may not be directed at them. Pray that God will strengthen their faith and reliance on God’s grace and Spiritual comfort will be their resolve.
We pray for Christians everywhere who feel under stress from society and who have to comply with the current Equality legislation. We pray for God’s support for sensible legislation and that governments may be challenged to uphold Christian values. Pray for the efforts of The Christian Institute, Open Doors and others, who help to highlight such situations.
Thank Almighty God for the successful visit by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth to Ireland and her safe return again to London. Give thanks for all who worked to ensure the visit would be protected from serious incident.
Pray for the newly elected members of Stormont, that they may be given wisdom and courage to govern wisely and pray that they may always be mindful of their duty to uphold and support the Christian values of our society.
