10 Reasons why I love to pray with others......

Reason 1. "Jesus said when 2 or 3 people gather in my name then I will be in the midst of them.  To pray with others helps you to draw closer to them and God."  Anne Crossett

Pray for the ordination and installation of Mr Keith Hibbert on Friday night in the congregations of Cumber and Upper Cumber  Presbyterian Churches. Pray for Keith, Diane, Abigail, Georgia and Lydia as they settle into the manse and congregations and pray that God would bless both the family and the congregations as they seek to serve God together.  Pray for Keith as he leads his first services next Sunday morning and pray too for travel as folk from our church who will travel up on Friday night. 

Exams, soon to come in May and June, bring great stress. Pray that all students (school, university and ministry) might remain calm, revise well and  present exams appropriate to their ability.   Pray that above all they would realise that the ultimate goal in life should be to please God and live for Him and that this would help bring perspective in their studies.

Glenn and Julianne Cousely, Kampala, Uganda.  Pray for that the work permit for Glenn will be extended beyond November.  At present his work as trainer with MAF is very much unfinished and yet if the work permit is not extended they will need to come home this summer for good.  Pray for God's leading at this unsettling time and for the decision to be over ruled if it is right for them to stay on in Uganda. 

Pray for local baby Katie Darragh and her parents Glen and Victoria.  Recent biopsies have revealed the drug trials are not working and disease has progressed.  Consultants are not optimistic.  Pray for God to move in miraculous power.

Easter Services

Give thanks for all who were involved in our Easter Services and in particular for the Easter Celebration on Easter Sunday Evening

Prayer Focus   ^"Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit."

Father, we thank you for the gift of your Spirit within us.  Forgive us for those times we have grieved your spirit by our sinful and careless thoughts, words and actions.  Help us today to worship you in spirit and, as we go into this new week to keep in step with the Holy Spirit day by day. Amen

Pray for girls in GB as they take part in the display on Friday night.  Pray too for Eileen Black as she speaks to the girls that the girls might be attentive and she would have freedom as she speaks.

Give thanks for the work of CEDU which distributes Portuguese gospel literature into many parts of the world.  Pray that the latest batch that was posted last month to Mozambique will reach its destination safely and that God's spirit might be at work in the hearts of those who receive it.

Pray for preparations for the Summer Outreach and for Anne Crossett as she leads the team.  Pray for the team as they meet tonight.  Pray that already God would be at work in young peoples' lives.

Pray for choir as they prepare for Easter Services .  Pray that many will attend these special services and that it will be a time of great blessing in our  congregation.

Open Doors - Thank God that so many North Korean refugees have found Christ.  Pray for protection and wisdom as they decide whether to share their faith with their families and friends. 

Pray for local couple  Glen and Victoria Darragh whose little baby Katie is undergoing clinical trials in Sheffield in an attempt to reduce the levels in leukaemia in her body so that she could have a bone marrow transplant.  Pray for God's sustaining grace at this difficult time.  Pray too for her big sister Amy.
