Specific Prayer Points
Pray for the Youth of our Congregation. Give thanks for Leaders and helpers of all the organizations and all parents who ensure attendance. Pray that the seed of salvation may be planted in these young hearts and bear fruit in their lives.
Pray that through the Sunday School the Stand By Me sweetie tube collection will be well supported. Pray too that the children will be challenged and enlightened as the Stand by Me material is taught over the next 3 weeks.
Pray for Street-reach on Saturday nights. Give thanks for 3 more volunteers joining the team. Give thanks for the many opportunities there are to practically care for these young people. Pray especially for a young 16 year old girl who was very sick last Saturday night and was cared for by the team. Pray that she would recognize Christ’s love for her. Pray too that she will learn from this experience and not endanger her life like this again.
Give thanks for an encouraging increase in numbers this past week in Parent and Toddlers. Give thanks for all who help faithfully in this group. Pray for the story time as it is introduced that the children will settle and listen and remember the simple truths from God’s word being taught.
Pray for those in their later years in life or those facing terminal illnesses that have no assurance of salvation or hope in eternity. Pray that their hearts would soften towards God and that they would realise that they need to trust in Christ alone for Salvation.
Pray for Holy Week Mission in April. Pray that God would be at work in people’s hearts so that though this week of focusing on the cross of Christ there might be those who will come to trust in Christ for Salvation. Pray for Jonathan and Keith as they prepare for this week.
Marriage Pray that all couples will be encouraged to guard their hearts and their marriages as we look at the 7th Commandment on Sunday. Pray for couples who are facing difficulties in their marriage that they will seek help before their relationship is irreconcilable. Christian Institute Petition. Pray that the efforts to change the traditional and biblical definition of marriage: the voluntary union for life of one man with one woman to the exclusion of all others, will not succeed
Pray for the Senior members of the congregation in particular those unable to be at Church on Sundays due perhaps to failing health and other difficulties. Pray for those that are unwell, awaiting results of tests, surgery or recovering in hospital or at home. Give thanks for Doctors, Nurses or family members who care for the elderly and sick.
Pray for Eileen Black ( Deaconess in First Cookstown) as she holds 3 outreach events (Afternoon Tea and Epilogue) in the Royal Hotel for first 3 Thursdays of month. Pray that these will be well attended and that as relationships are built there will be an openness to the Gospel message.
Tearfund Prayer Week Ask God to give wisdom and guidance to Tearfund as they seek to see people released from both spiritual and material poverty and injustice in some of the world’s poorest countries. Is 58:6-8.
Pray for Derek, Jane and Gabriela French (PCI Spain) who plan to leave for China on 10th March to adopt Luka (1/3/2010). This is earlier than expected. Pray that everything will come together quickly and smoothly over the next week. They are still waiting their travel visas to enter into China. Pray that all the necessary paperwork would be ready in time. Pray for Luka, that God would prepare his little heart for all the sudden changes ahead. Pray too for Lina who will be holding the fort while the Derek and Jane are away – during which time there is a mission and mini-camp, as well as all the normal day to day work.
Continue to pray for Daniel Glassey working in Thailand with Wycliffe that day by day he will know God’s enabling in the IT work he is doing.
