Prayer Updates 20th January 2011

Oh Breath of life, come sweeping through us,

Revive Thy church with life and power;

Oh Breath of Life, come cleanse, renew us

And fit thy church to meet this hour

Pray for our church that God’s spirit might be at work as it was in Acts 2. Pray that we would know its cleansing power to convict us of our sin and transform us into the likeness of Christ. Pray for a passion for Christ and his people and that many would come to trust in Christ for salvation. Pray for revival in the hearts of all Christian and in our own congregation.

Pray that we might be ever mindful that we are in a spiritual battle and that the devil is active in this world. Pray that we might have more of a passion for prayer in our congregation, to seek God’s face together and to seek His spirit to be at work. Pray too for those who continue to meet in the prayer triplet groups that this may continue to be a vital part of their prayer lives.

Pray for PW members as they take part in on Sunday and for the PCI Malawi team as they share of their work. Pray for God’s presence in the service and for a time of blessing. Pray for the PW Mission Box collection that is taking place this month that many would respond to it generously and that God would bless this money to use it for the work of mission at home and overseas.

Give thanks for all the children who come faithfully to Sunday School and Junior church. Pray for all the leaders as they prepare their lessons, that they might know God’s help and that the truths might be planted in the children’s hearts.

Pray for all those in our congregation who are ill at this time. Pray for God’s comfort and strength and for His healing. Pray for those who are undergoing tests and are anxious for the future.

Pray for those who are bereaved remembering especially the family and friends of Mrs Georgi Quinn who passed away last week.

Pray for Rev Curry as he ministers to many who are in hospital and are ill at this time. Pray for God’s sustaining power and for sensitivity to God’s spirit in this pastoral work.

Pray for MAD as it meets on Sunday evenings. Numbers have gone down in past few weeks. Pray for a renewed interest and that it might be an encouragement to the young people in their faith.

Pray for all who preach God’s word on Sundays. Jonathan (Sun 23rd pm); Keith and Ivor (Sun 30th). Pray that God will meet with them as they prepare God’s word and that they will know his power and freedom as they preach.
