Prayer Points
Give thanks for the opportunity to join around the Communion table on 13th
May and pray that many will avail of this opportunity to re-new their
commitment to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and King in their lives. Give thanks
for God’s guidance in the lives of the two
new communicants and those who have become members by transfer certificate. We pray that God’s spirit will be real to all those who seek His face during our
communion service.
Pray for and give thanks for those preparing for
the Information Evening 16th
May, when the Ministry, Property and
Outreach needs of the church will be presented to the congregation. Pray
that much interest will be evident and that a willing heart and love for God’s
church will result in much achieved for the support and extension of His
Kingdom.
Pray for Streetreach
work each Saturday night and for all organisations that reach out into the
community to help.
Numbers at Parent
and Toddlers have grown since Easter.
Pray that in the business all newcomers will feel welcome and receive
support where it is needed. Pray for safety
as the bigger boys are becoming more boisterous!!!
Pray that as section leaders meet to Prepare for the Summer Outreach on Tuesday 15th on that night they would
know God’s leading and that the number of people interested in serving God
though this work will continue to grow.
Pray for the J
Team trip to Kids Praise Party on Sat 19th.
Pray for Youth
Service on Sun 20th (evening) and for those sharing about the outreach teams
they are attending in the Summer.
Pray for those who are going through times of difficulty. Pray for those who are ill, undergoing tests,
receiving treatment and been bereaved in recent days. Pray that they would know God’s loving
presence and strength at this time. Pray
too for families who are suffering from the effects of abuse.
Online
Pornography. Pray for David
Cameron as he is taking advice at the moment regarding enforcing tighter
controls on online pornography so that it is much more difficult for children
to access it. Research suggests that 1
in 3 children under the age of 10 have seen pornography on their mobiles or PC and
80 % of children in their mid teens in UK admit to regularly viewing
explicit images (Daily Mail). Pray too that men and women who are
struggling with this temptation would recogonise it as sin and seek help. Online Pornography has been found to be a
major factor in at least 50% of marriage breakdowns. (C Eyes).
Pray for all
young people sitting exams at school and university that they will be able
to do their best and have the emotional strength to cope with pressure upon
them. Pray for wisdom for those who are deciding
on their future.
Cedu. Pray for the safe distribution of the gospel
leaflets to Angola and Ghana and that
God’s spirit would speak to those who receive these leaflets.
Pray for the Persecuted Church,
that those practicing their Christian faith may be protected in countries where
such persecution exists. Give thanks for Organisations, The Christian
Institute, Open Doors, Release International etc, that they continue to
highlight and challenge where Christians do not have the freedom to worship
God. Pray for Christians displaced due to the conflict in Islamic countries
where Christian families have fled their homes due to violence and threats.
DGM Hospital, Malawi Pray for Johnny and Lynn Dowds that
they will be refreshed as they go on holiday with Lynn’s parents from Friday. Pray too for the staff in the hospital in Lynn’s absence as there
is a shortage of staff to cover. Pray for new
President of Malawi, Joyce Banda, that she will make wise decisions that will
bring benefit to ordinary people in Malawi.
