Life giving Prayers for our Church by Sandra Higley (adapted)

Lord, we pray for all who involved in preaching God’s word. May they correctly handle Your word of truth, admonishing and teaching wisely. Let them speak with faith that springs from relationship with You (2 Tim. 2:15; Col. 1:28)

Encourage Rev Curry, Rev Smith and Mr Hibbert when ministry gets tough. Help them remain faithful with the things You’ve entrusted to them. (2 Cor. 4:1; 1 Cor. 4:1-3).

Teach us to respect and honour our elders. May they give wholehearted attention to prayer and to ministry. Keep them devoted to their families and above reproach. May they be gentle, honest, and wise as they carry out their responsibilities (Acts 6:4; 1 Tim. 3:1-2, 5:17; Titus 1:7).

Lord we pray that when we come to worship you we would stand in awe before the splendour of Your holiness. Use our praise to defeat the enemy. May we be true worshipers who worship in spirit and in truth. Let us glory only in You, Jesus (2 Chron. 20:21-22; Jn. 4:23-24; Phil. 3:3).

Pray for a Family a Day Over the next month we encourage you to pray for the following church families. Pray that their relationships within their own family, within our church family and with God will be strengthened and deepened. “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Phillipians 1:9-11
